How to plan a 9:16 lyric clip for TikTok

Select a vertical canvas, manually time a short passage and check text placement without confusing product limits with TikTok requirements.

1. Choose portrait composition for mobile screens

Open a new draft and select 9:16 under Aspect ratio in the editor header. This adjusts the canvas to a vertical 9:16 portrait orientation, allowing you to design specifically for smartphone displays. Note that setting the ratio changes the local canvas preview; it does not upload or post anything directly to TikTok.

Use the 15-second or 30-second preset to isolate the most engaging passage of your track—typically a hook, chorus, or memorable verse. This 15–30 second window is a deliberate product parameter of LyricVideo.net, not TikTok’s platform duration limit.

2. Keep lyric lines manageable and respect UI safe zones

Vertical screens have limited horizontal space. Long poetic lines that look balanced on a desktop monitor will wrap awkwardly or shrink on mobile viewports. We recommend breaking lyrics into phrases of three to six words each.

TikTok’s published ad guidelines highlight that right-hand engagement icons (likes, comments, bookmarks) and bottom profile/caption containers overlay video edges. While ad safe zones differ from organic feeds, placing text centrally with comfortable lateral margins prevents on-screen UI elements from obscuring your words.

3. Check timing with the actual audio playback

Play your audio in the workspace and pause at each vocal entry. Click "Mark start" to anchor the beginning of a lyric line, then let the playback reach the end of the phrase and click "Mark end".

Listen through the passage at normal speed to ensure each line appears slightly before or exactly as the vocalist articulates the first syllable. Browser previews rely on HTML5 audio; listen critically to verify natural synchronization rather than relying solely on visual waveforms.

4. Understand the current preview vs. publication workflow

TikTok’s official Content Posting API documentation recommends H.264 video compression and AAC audio within standard MP4 containers for third-party uploads. LyricVideo.net currently operates as an interactive timing and layout preview tool; it does not yet provide automated direct publishing or clean MP4 downloads.

Use this release to dial in your pacing, evaluate typography readability, and save your draft. When clean HD rendering opens, your timed drafts will be ready for high-resolution output.
